CHECK OUT Beef O'Brady's 2160 Howland Blvd Deltona, Florida (386) 789-9464

Whats Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So...as you know I love to eat out. And I thoroughly enjoy giving you, my peeps, the latest on where is good, where is alright, and where is really not so much worth your time. After tonight’s outing I decided to talk about our neighborhood Beef O'Brady's.
This place is hometown for me. I always see somebody I know, am always greeted by a smile, and always have a good experience. We go there about once a week, and have for a while. We've seen the change of hands with the restaurant, the change of staff, have seen faces and personalities come and go. However the food, thank God has always stayed the same.
Although I love to try different things, I find myself going there for what I know I love. I found something really good, and I’ve stuck with it. When I think of Beef's these days, this is what I crave..
First it’s the Chips and Queso. It is always hot, and the chips are always crispy and light. Next we love the hot garlic wings and usually get about 20 of them, reveling on how amazing they are, while licking our fingers and asking the other to hand us a paper towel. He eats the drumettes, I eat the little wing parts ( I have no idea what their names are but they freakin rock) it's a perfect relationship. And the little man tonight got the chicken nuggets and rice.
I have to tell you that the rice was seriously good. He ate it by the handful. Not just for a kid good, but GOOD. I found myself trying to decipher the ingredients to copy at home. Very tasty.

Not only do we enjoy the food, which is constantly good, but the people who work there are ALWAYS friendly, always quick, always a pleasure. I have to give them props. I can’t remember a time really when we didn’t have a sweet chick with a friendly outlook who didn’t honestly think our kid was the most adorable little guy on the planet, and by the way he definitely is.
I do have to say that the Deltona Beef's is a complete joy compared with the Deland Beef's location. Not only in service, but attitude, and food quality. If that place were the only  location to be my introduction to the Beef O'Brady's deal, I wouldn't go at all.
They are a world apart, and I am ever so glad.
There are many awesome items for you to chose from if you’re not so much into what I got, however I do suggest you try this place out, not only are they super yummy, but they do a lot for our community as far as sponsorship for teams, and fund raisers.
So here’s yet another choice place for you to hit!
Hope you dig it like we do! Btw ask for Julianna, she rocks.

Until I tell you more..

Not So Family Friendly Sherry's Kitchen & Buffet - Deland, FL, 32724 (386) 738-1777

Hello Readers!

I know that you might be thinking that I only write good reviews for everybody, since I haven’t really had to share anything not so great lately. Well today might be the day you change your mind. This was certainly the day I changed my mind about a place we've been going to for a few years. I hate to say it, but to quote the beloved Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, "Once my good opinion is lost, it's lost forever".
You can call it Soul food, or Southern food, or Home food, or whatever you want. It's the goods I was raised on, on our 200 acre farm in the hills of Tennessee, that I still dream about to this day. Greens, beans, cornbread, meatloaf, fried chicken, okra, yellow squash, cauliflower, fried catfish, and don't forget the mashed potatoes. Yep, the goood stuff. The food that puts the "meat" on your bones, and the junk in your trunk, if ya feel me. And I love it..love love love it. So that's why we’ve been known to go to Sherry's Buffet. They serve a “medium version” of this food that I link to my childhood.
I fall to cravings at times, and today was that day, so off we went to Sherry's. However this time we brought the newest addition of our family, our little 14 month old, that we love so much.
All was ok, till the near end of the experience, when as we were preparing to leave, cleaning up around table where our little man was seated. While picking up the crumbs left behind by him so the waitress wouldn’t have too, we were approached by one of Sherry's daughters wielding a scowl on her face. She wasted no time telling us that there was a big sign at the cash register that says "If youre gonna let your kids throw their food all over the place, then you need to purchase a garbage bag from the management before you even sit down". Being as though it was quite obvious we had not let him do such a thing, and we had always been treated decent in the past, I thought she must be trying to make an attempt at humor. Unfortunately it was made clear that she was being serious, as she continued to repeat the statement over and over again. After my husband finished picking up the very few corn bread crumbs that missed our little guys mouth, we indeed went to the cash register and saw no such sign. Anywhere.

Chick having a bad day?
Maybe.
Chick creating a very negative lasting impression of herself and the establishment?
Completely..
Chicks extremely rude behavior causing Sherry's to lose our business from here on out?
Absolutely.

Overall experience: Crappy
Food was decent, but defiantly overshadowed by the crass and exceptionally rude attitude and behavior of staff member.

Note to employees in all areas along the ladder. You can make a difference; let it be a good one.

Dolphin View Restaurant 107 N. Riverside Dr. New Smyrna Beach, Fl. 32168 (386)402-8859

What’s up friends!

Thought I'd share with you all a little place that we've been going to for a while now. And loving! It's truly a local secret, so although I don't wanna spoil it for those who wish to  keep it that way, I'd rather let you in on the deal. This place is really great, and its 100% Florida. Formerly the Sea Harvest, now under new management,( and man what a difference)the Dolphin View serves great fresh seafood with a wonderful scenic view of the waterway. There is nothing better than a day at beautiful New Smyrna Beach, then an early dinner or late lunch at the Dolphin View. We stopped there yesterday, where I seriously enjoyed a blackened Mahi- Mahi sandwich on a soft bun, with six pieces of fish, cold slaw, and a handful of waffle fries all for around 9$. I also tried the clam chowder, and was not disappointed a bit. It rocked, oh yes.
Be aware folks, this is another one of my favorite hole in the walls. And it cannot be described any other way. The seating is all outside on one of the three decks, there are plenty of my favorite three B's. BIRDS, BOATS, and BREEZES. And let’s not forget what the place is named for..the dolphins are constantly playing in and about the water clearly all around you! If you’re ready for some great food, a bit of relaxation, and a good time had by all. This is where I recommend you go on any given sunny Saturday afternoon.

Until I tell you more…

Ensenada Mexican Restaurant

Hey People,

My parents are the reason that I'm always on the lookout for really good and cheap Mexican food. And once again they pulled through for our team by turning me on to a new restaurant in Delightful Deltona. The name of the joint is Ensenada Mexican Restaurant, located at the corner of Normandy and Providence blvd's, inside the Winn Dixie plaza. I love a hole in the wall, if you haven't noticed, and this one is really no exception. Although the décor, and paint job are actually pretty nice, (rare for my usual hole in the wall experience).
What got me most about this place was the salsa. OH the SALSA! And NOT the one they bring to the table for every Tom, John, and Jane..but the one they keep behiiiiind the counter. The one you have to ask for. The one that seriously rocks. If you like a lot of flavor with your heat (and not just heat), this one’s for you. I like the burn, but to be good, it's gotta bring the noise. And I'm not talking about the boom from the ghetto low riders in the parking lot. I'm talking about the taste, the savor, the pumped up full flavor that makes you sweat a bit, right above your upper lip. The real stuff. And they've got it.
Their menu looks a lot like every other Mexican restaurant’s menu, except for the added El Salvadorian temptations. Since I love to try new things (EXCEPT cow tongue but that’s an entire different story that I'd love to forget) I discovered the side order list on the menu. Beginning at @ 2$ a piece you can mix and match different items like Tostadas, Corn Husk Enchiladas, Tacos, and more. I chose three, and was hardly able to finish, for only 6$.
FYI. There is a bit of a language barrier. The only person that really seemed to speak anything but very broken English was the son of the owner who behind the counter cooking. Don't let this stop you though, they do have plenty of pictures for description, and so what if you order something you've never tried before…It might just end up being your new favorite!

Till I tell you more,

Coming soon....Do You Like Mexican?

A Few Words on Pit Master Bbq

Dear Readers,

As I am constantly on the look out for some awesome Bbq (who isn't) I GPSed Bbq on my handy dandy HTC Evo, my ever faithful companion. Pit Master Bbq came up, and having never been there before, I was intrigued.

First impression from outside as I approached from the parking lot. Is this a restaurant or a biker bar? The picture painted on the windows is that of a scantily clad female body, augmented EVERYTHING if you catch my meaning, but with the head of a smiling pig. Hmm. A bit disturbing. More disturbing was the fact of the teenish server girls still brandishing their orthodontia, while wearing the business uniform tee-shirt of the half naked, super augmented piggy chick on their chest. No, my daughter would never work there.
Once inside I was greeted by a mediocre "sit anywhere you want." The tables and general atmosphere were clean and tidy ( I didn’t check the bathrooms) and current country music played kinda loud. My order was taken promptly, sweet tea with lemon brought quickly and it was really very good. A must have for any self respecting Bbq restaurant. I ordered the "Hill-Billy combo. Pulled pork or beef brisket on potato roll topped with Cole slaw served with French fries. I love an Alabama slaw dog so what the heck? Order was out in average time, fries were hot, very important. I got the pork, which was nearly melt in your mouth tender. The texture almost making up for the lack of flavor of the pork itself..almost. The potato bun was very soft and fresh, but the Cole slaw was not really a distinguishable flavor or texture on the sandwich.

The very best part of this endeavor to Pit Master relies heavily on the Bbq sauce. Or rather sauces. There are five. I tried them all, and LOVED every one. Ranging from Original, Sweet, Bold Sweet, Spicy, and most importantly and harder to come by, Mustard sauce. Individually they were great, with flavors shaming other local competitors like Sonny's, Dustin’s, and even my beloved Brian’s Bbq. Mixed together over my fires they were equally as wonderful, bringing me to break a little sweat right underneath my eyes. Makes me wish I'd have bought some to bring home with me. I do want to note that the containers of Bbq sauce were completely spotless when brought to my table. Not even a drip on the sides or any proof they'd been used before, and they were completely full, a very nice touch.

Prices were decent, around 7$ for my combo not including the tea.

*Overall Experience*

Clean and tidy atmosphere.
Pretty good food.
Really good tea.
Excellent sauce.
